Who we are
My name is Stephen Keogh and I have grown up around cars. I bought my first car, a 1967 Triumph Herald 13/60 at the age of eight with my Holy Communion money and, at the age of 12, I bought my second car, a 1979 Triumph Dolomite 1500. Cars mean a great deal to me because it was through my love of rusty scrap that I developed a close relationship with my Dad, a longtime fanatic himself, and also my brother, who came down with petrolivitus just as I did as a child. I mostly tinker with and enjoy older cars that are from before my time but that doesn’t mean I can’t admire a thing of contemporary beauty!
I believe that being a petrolhead is great because, when things are going well, you can go places and explore and adventure in ways you just can’t with other passions, and when things go wrong, you might just learn something and impress yourself along the way. The car scene is packed with some of the most interesting and talented people I have met and, often enough, the story of them and their car is truly amazing.
I also love to write and photograph things and it was a natural joining of the two, but I just didn’t know what to do with them! I tried filming some videos of highly questionable quality before settling on Carbit-e as a place to dump my rambling thoughts and snaps.
If you have a car, or story of a car or you’re just like me and can talk endlessly about three-rail gearboxes, please don’t hesitate to get in touch through the contact form and I’ll be with you shortly.
Thanks,
Stephen
